Jona Caparas is the VAT RN at New York Presbyterian Westchester, New York.. Jona has over 30 years of nursing experience, 30 of these are on infusion therapy in various setting, as well as radiology, oncology/bone marrow transplants, orthopedics and pediatrics. She is the vice-chair of the hospital Shared Governance and a member of Safety and Qulaity Committees..She also provides education on picc /midlines,ugpiv and standard piv insertion and care and maintenance of these devices on her spare time. She also implemented the first Rapid Response Team in Long Term Care Facility. She is an active member of Association of Vascular Access, New York State Nurses Association, Board of Director of Philippine Nurses Association -NY, Inc and other organizations. Jona is the co- founder and President of the Association for Vascular Access New York Metro Network (AVANY).
