Dr. Amy Bardin is a vascular access specialist with over 25 years of critical care and device insertion experience. She was the recipient of the 2016 Suzanne Levere Herbst award for excellence in Vascular Access. Amy embraces and promotes the role of a vascular access specialist inserting, monitoring, and educating on vascular access and hemodynamic monitoring devices. Her initiatives includes a no blind stick approach when vascular access is required, development of evidence and position statements, supporting the availablity and need for the vascular access specialty. Amy believes that all patients deserve safe, effective, and reliable access options and care and that teams should be implemented in all hospitals and be integrated into decisions and committees that drive change. She also believes that education and clinician confidence impact patient outcomes. Amy is the current Presidential Advisor for the AVA Foundation for Patient Safety.
