Alric Simmonds, Jr., MD, FACS, MHCM (he/him/his)

Dr. Alric V. Simmonds, Jr., MD is currently the Chief Medical Officer of AdventHealth Celebration and serves as the Inaugural AdventHealth Chief Health Equity Officer. He is a board-certified general surgeon in Orlando and earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his surgical training at Howard University Hospital.

Dr. Simmonds love for learning led him to attain a Master of Healthcare Management degree at Harvard University, T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

His professional awards includes AdventHealth University, Distinguished Community Service Award, June 2022, W.K. Kellogg Foundation $2 Million Dollar award – Building Health Equity across Health Care Systems and Communities, April 2021, The U.S. Congress Certificate of Special Recognition” in August 2018, The University of Central Florida College of Medicine Excellence in Surgical Education Award, and The Howard University Chairmen of Surgery Award “For Superior Leadership & Teaching Ability”.
