Nadine Nakazawa has been a nurse at Stanford Health Care for 43 years. She developed the PICC Program at Stanford in1990, and is an active member of the Vascular Access Service Team. She was the hospital's VAD Committee Chair for 14 years until 2007. She was one of the founding members of the Bay Area Vascular Access Network under Suzanne Herbst in 1985, and is the current President of BAVAN for 2023. She is a past President of AVA (about 14 years ago). She is currently the Lead on the Insertion section of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Task Force, and is Chair of the AVA Board Development Commission for 2023. She has lectured on topics related to vascular access in over 40 states and 11 countries. She continues to be a passionate advocate for best practices in vascular access and cares very much about her patients and colleagues.
