Deanne August is an Australian post doctoral research fellow (Medical Research Future Fund) with a diverse background in health care provision including clinical care, nursing leadership, and academic achievements. Her foundation for her work stems clinical work in Neonatal Care, Paediatric Critical Care, Retrieval Services, Wound Care and Accreditation activities related to the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service. Her research outputs are focused on evaluation of clinical practice and limiting the frequency of sequalae attributed to necessary care such as vascular access. Importantly her research also considers the effect of clinical workloads, implications on hospital systems, consumer experience and feasibility for translatable outcomes. Dr August maintains a strong connection to clinical care through a health service appointment in the Royal Brisbane and Women's' Hospital and collaboration in peak profession organisations such as the Australian College or Neonatal Nurses and the Council of International Neonatal Nurses.
