Mrs. McLaughlin is a Clinical Information Analyst Lead in the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine within Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Elizabeth is the Program Manager of the Michigan Hospital Medicine Safety (HMS) Consortium a data driven quality collaborative focused on reducing adverse events for hospitalized medical patients. Since 2014, HMS has led an initiative on improving appropriate use of vascular access devices, specifically PICCs and Midlines. Prior to becoming Program Manager, she was the assistant project manager, a QA/Nurse Coordinator, as well as the HMS clinical data abstractor for the University of Michigan. Prior to her position in the HMS Coordinating Center, she was a cardiac progressive care nurse for over 5 years. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing as well as her Masters in Nursing Business and Health Systems from the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
