This case study based session will include assessment of complicated patients: including use of different imaging modalities which may benefit in access planning(e/g/ role of CTV vs US vs fluoroscopy,) advanced vascular access device placement in collateral targets, conversion of one device to another and tandem catheter placement and use of novel sites and devices. The application of these techniques in both adult and pediatric patients will be described.

1. By the end of this session, the participant will be able to describe innovative techniques for attaining vascular access in alternate access sites in complex patients
Propose strategies for assessing and procedure planning for complex patients, using imaging and novel technical approaches
By the end of this session, the participant will be able to suggest those strategies which may be modified or implemented into their own practice
