What do you think a day-to-day life as an actor, teacher's aide, Walmart team lead, waiter, student, Amazon Distribution worker, and freelance artist is like? While I am working hard in my life, to maintain normalcy, there are obvious shortcomings with having a chronic illness. Through this session, you will laugh, think, and reassess how you address people but also learn how empathy can be helpful and a hindrance to someone with a chronic illness. In a world and a society where we're constantly go-go-go, it's nice to hear how a patient keeps up with that mindset while dealing with flares, setbacks, challenges, and maintaining his spoons.
Learning Objectives:
Humanize someone with a chronic illness & understand their struggles living in a world where C/I is considered invisible.
Appreciate the peaks and valleys of day-to-day live living with Chronic illness and maintaining normalcy.
Take stories to your friends, family members, and patients that give them hope, and encouragement for the future.
